Peter Demetz, Inside View
The artist focuses on the study of the human soul through spontaneous and simple body language. His sculptures, illuminated from behind, look like figures trapped in their own world, behaving naturally, without being aware that we are witnessing that moment of intimacy. Peter Demetz demonstrates a perfect anatomical knowledge, as well as a mastery of perspective and portraiture. His works are completed with light boxes, which, as abstract scenarios, place his figures to complete that fictitious dimension, thus showing the reflection of the “wonderful daily life”. The color, the use of perspective, light and detail form a whole that allows us to reflect on our own experiences. Like his works, we become contemplative and reflective characters of our own life.
