Salinas Project

Luna Bengoechea

08.09.2022 – 19.11.2022

The Lucía Mendoza gallery presents Salinas Project, an exhibition by artist Luna Bengoechea that gathers, through photographs, videos and installation, the work process she carried out in the salt mines of the islands of El Hierro, La Palma and Lanzarote, in the Canary archipelago, by means of large-scale drawings made with sea salt. With this exhibition, the gallery participates in the 13th edition of Apertura Madrid Gallery Weekend 2022, the artistic event that opens the exhibition season.

This project, which the artist carried out in the landscape of the Canary Islands, is part of the Call for Research and Artistic Creation for the Centenary of César Manrique and consists of ephemeral interventions in the landscape of the Canary Islands, seeking to establish a connection between the territory and the landscape, with the intention of giving visibility to these spaces of great natural and heritage value.
