Lucía Mendoza Gallery opens Vibrant Matter, an exhibition curated by Gabriel Pérez-Barreiro with the artworks of Álvaro Oyarzún (Santiago de Chile, 1960) and Christian Vinck (Maracaibo, 1978) that brings together a series of oil paintings and a site-specific drawing that Oyarzún and Marlene Azocar will be making during the first week of the show.
Oyarzún and Vinck go out into the world with the gaze of contemporary explorers to visually record the things that surround us and affect us. Stones, rivers, mountains, sculptures, bicycles, garbage: all of them deserve the same treatment and arouse the same visual fascination. Both artists present a world of vibrant materials, of a charming and carefree relationship with the world around us.
